Is my signature uploaded or stored anywhere?
No. It is drawn on a canvas in your browser and exported on your device. It is never sent to FreelancerKit, never stored, and never logged. Closing the tab discards it.
Does the PNG have a transparent background?
Yes. The exported image contains only the ink, so it can sit directly on top of a contract or letterhead without a white rectangle behind it.
Is a signature image legally binding?
It depends on your jurisdiction and the agreement. In many places a signature image is accepted, but it is weaker evidence than a signing record that captures identity, timestamp, and IP address, because an image can be copied from any document it appears on. For anything you might need to defend, use a proper e-signature flow.
Should I use PNG or SVG?
PNG for most documents. SVG when the signature will be resized, because it is a vector and stays sharp at any scale. SVG is available in draw mode.
Can I use this on a phone or tablet?
Yes, and it is usually the best way to do it. Signing with a finger or stylus on a touchscreen produces a far more natural signature than a trackpad.
